Young people are funny... by "funny" I mean stupid.

Sometimes the videos we post here are so damn funny, it makes my job very easy. I don't know what I could say other than I hope you are wearing your Depends.

First off, here's gang of 13 year old little shits doing their rendition of "Iron Man." Man, Ozzy is probably turning in his grave. He's dead, ain't he?

This girl is dedicated, but very sad and pathetic at the same time. Check out the geetar solo around the 2:53 mark. A true classic!

Finally, here's this awesome, awesome clip. My favorite of the three. Please enjoy!

  1. i feel bad making fun of kids for trying...but godamn!

these videos are the perfect embodiment of the term "satisfice", a solution that merely attempts to meet the criteria of adequacy, rather than an optimal solution. the term is a portmanteau (the blending of two words) of satisfy and suffice. now, when the word comes up...we'll all have a visual aid to remember what it means. they are certainly playing notes that are reminiscent of the actual song. they are playing the songs...but oh boy...the quality is hindered by their abilities (or lack thereof)

  2. Well, one thing to remark is that it seems teenagers are becoming very respectful people. Just imagine you, being around 16 y.o. (like the kids in the 2nd video) and a buch of idiots are trying to cover Nirvana playing like that. Can you imagine staying there, sitting quietly like all those kids, without even shouting to shut the fuck up or hit those 3 idiots with at least a chair??
The best thing they could do is to immitate Kurt Cobain and end up breaking the instruments. Maybe they won't have money to buy them again.

  3. you're right. in the first and second video, an amazing amount of restraint is being shown. perhaps its all parents at a talent show. in the last video...well...there's no one there to respond in any way at all.

  4. Is there even anyone at the concert in the third video? I know that whenever I hear the grating opening to The Final Countdown I run and hide. Maybe I'm not the only one.

  5. if The Final Countdown is played, and no one is there at the County Fair to hear it...has it been played? such questions will always linger for humanity...

that's exactly what i thought. too! i'd thrown something at them or at the very least yelled obscenities at them.

shit, maybe teens aren't becoming polite, but patient. maybe they waited until the camera was off and beat the shit out of them. maybe they just wacked them all with bats and cut off the girls tongue! yeah! high five!

  9. Lars Ulrich plays drums on "Iron man", I think.

  10. i think it might be even more frightening to think that it really is a group of parents watching these performances...can you imagine how awkward that must be to be sitting there about 3 minutes into that nirvana cover? or worse, for that to be your goddamned kid up there?? yikes...
having said that, i guess it's better than my band at 13 yrs old, which in fact did not exist.
    or maybe not.

  11. Jesus H...someone needs to keep that "drummer" in video #1 AWAY from percussion instruments of any kind. That was excruciating. Seriously.

Kudos to the tone-deaf chick in #2. Even though she sucked ass in every way imaginable, she at least has some genuine angsty stage presence...lol

  12. First second or two of the last video has a little kid running in circles then away from that even more terrible version of Final Countdown, which I really wasn't sure could be done worse.
    Smart little kid.

  13. The guitar in the first clip sounds like it has been strung with rubber bands instead of strings.

  14. I couldn't even get through a minute of each clip, laughing so hard!
It's sad that no one heard them and tried to stop them before they got any more practice.

The Final Countdown, on a Casio-someone should have been shot for that one. Or at least given an atomic wedgie.

  15. I'm not sure what I love most about the "Final countdown" version; the missing note on the Casio or the fact that the "vocalist" actually performs his own echo.

  16. ^

or the fact that he's managed to memorize only half of the lyrics and is mumbling the rest.

the best part is that fat old dude casually walking by and glancing at the camera around 1:45.

    classic.

    the only living witness.

  17. thanks for posting some truly awful videos that are not hosted on youtube (work blocks that site among others). WOW the kids in the first one completely butchered that song... and the three piece in the 2nd played the worst rendition of Nirvana - where's the bass btw? I hate the Final Countdown and thankfully I only watched 20 seconds of it...
Get a job kids and stop sponging off your parents trying to make it as rock stars.

  18. The guitar solo in Smells Like Teen Spirit is brilliant. Who would've thought of transposing it into a completely different (major) key?

That particular version of The Final Countdown has always been a personal favourite. Gotta love the random fat dude walking past the camera around 1:30.
