Venom's Cronos Explains The Complex Inner Workings Of Their Musical Output, As Well As Metal Audiences
I know it's been said before....but god almighty, how can anyone in the world of black metal take the idiots in Venom seriously? Listening to these guys talk is almost more painful than listening to their music, or looking at pictures of them. Just look at the picture above. Nice roots Mantas, and nice pose also. Does it remind you of someone?
Here's another great shot of the not-so great band. Again, Mantas shows us how comfortable he is with gay imagery. Look at that mustache and sweet leather daddy outfit.
Anyway, on to the video. Please watch the video below and enjoy getting schooled by Cronos.
As grating as Venom band members are, at some point you begin to tune them out. It's like listening to your crazy grandpa talk endlessly. At first he annoys the hell out of you, then you tune him out...and quickly you find yourself asleep. Much like the sound of an air conditioner, a fan, or any other form of white noise, there's a soothing quality to it.

When my teacher caught me masturbating I told her it was for the glory of satan
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with the interview (or their music in the 80's, apart from the album "Calm before the storm") in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI like the first few Venom albums, but when he was laughing, thigh-slapping, and flicking his hair around right and stuff before they started talking about hardcore/punk... that was... well... gay.
ReplyDeleteThat video is like a lost episode of The Young Ones. It wouldn't have surprised me if Abbadon opened up a cabinet and was buried under an avalanche of lentils.
ReplyDeleteBeing a fan of generic death metal, I have to say that Venom did great things to develop my favourite genre.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, Abaddon still stands tall as the worst drummer of the galaxy.
See this video and judge by yourselves...

hah that whole performance is so sloppy. You'd think they hadn't written that song themselves given how seemingly outside of their ability to play it it is
ReplyDeletei think plenty of great music has been made with little to no musical abilities. lots of metal fits under that category. still, venom's attitude makes it seem like they think of themselves as virtuosos. also, cronos' mannerisms are insanely effeminate and annoying. these guys think they are both funny as hell, and smart as hell. what a combo.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering where the headstock on Cronos' bass went in that vid , then I just assumed he ate it.
ReplyDeleteThe best part about Venom is that Mantas now plays guitar in Scooter (for those lucky enough to be not in the know: a German techno act). Why the fuck they even have a guitarist is a mystery anyways, and the fact that somehow they ended up with a guy who was in Venom makes it even more ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteI'm not entirely sure that those guys are speaking English...
ReplyDeleteJeez, I just watched that vid of 'Black Metal', amazing...that they held it together for three whole minutes.
ReplyDeleteNice to see a broken string doesn't slow Cronos down even a little.
You should read some of THOSE comments.
I like the song "She's the sun" by Scooter...total Depeche Mode worship!
ReplyDeleteoh yes, scooter :

Isn't this taken from "The Ultimate Revenge"?
ReplyDeleteIn the beginning pearl hunting was the only means known for harvesting pearls. A little before the start of the 20th century divers manually pulled oysters from ocean floors and river bottoms and checked each one of them individually for pearls.
