Twisted Sister: Leaders of the Wack Pack

So, we all know what tools Twisted Sister were/are, correct? In case you forgot, peep the video of their version of "Leader of the Pack".

The Shangri-Las probably never saw this video and thank God! There's only one thing sadder than Dee Snyder wearing a white leather jacket with fringe and that is a bunch of 80's glam "dudes" chanting "Yeah, we see", "Down, down" and "New, new."

I know they didn't exactly take the song or the video seriously, but these guys were retarded clowns, period. Dude, they wear sunglasses at night. I've hit dudes for doing that in bars in Brooklyn!

I know, of course, there will be the usual poser fags who will claim that TS was awesome and influential and God knows what other stupid shit, BUT let me remind you: This is Metal Inquisition, not Lame-Ass-Poser Inquisition. If you want to talk about TS and their make-up and shitty riffs or any other glam band, you should go here.

You're gonna tell me that these assfucks look like metal dudes? If you think this is metal, you need to pop in the 'Reign in Blood' cassette in your walkman, set it to auto-reverse and crank the fucker to 11.

A few more things that made me chuckle when watching this piece of garbage:

- Mr. Spock poster in the girls room.
- Cameo by Bobcat Goldthwait.
- One of the dudes is really short and looks hilarious standing next to the others.

The one thing i do find cool is the matching denim vests. I'm gonna buy some for the MI staff and we'll be as cool as these gents.

  1. Jesus, I get it already. Bands that suck suck - tell me something I don't know. I sincerely hope you guys have better ideas than this in the works. Not all of us need help finding the humor in stupid metal cliches. Yes, Dio looks funny and so did Twisted Sister, and so did Venom, and Alice Cooper's dildo guitarist, so have most any other fucking rock and roll bands, ever. What's the next post gonna be, "Living Colour Wore Funny Neon Wetsuits?"

  3. I never understood why some metalheads talk about TS as they were good or different from the rest of the glam bands. Maybe because they didn't look like chicks, just like ugly dudes with make up? Who knows. Anyway, this is not related to this post, but I found this pic of this french band really pathetic:

I never heard their music, but after looking at that pic, I don't want to try...

  4. better than the bands that tried to be pretty. but yeah, i hate hearing about how important they are. come on, the whole thing was played out (visually/thematically) with bowie, ny dolls, etc, and we know the music was drivel...

  6. i'm glad someone brings up the ny dolls. talk about influential... they influenced TS. :)

and for the dude who complained about MI making fun of shitty bands: how can you complain about the milkman bringing you milk? - you are dumb.

  7. I guarantee at least three members of Butch Yelton and Upbound got busted for underage sex related shenanigans at some point in their life.

  8. Preach on Skullkrusher. That first comment is almost as funny as your post. Maybe that guy accidently reverse linked to Metal inquisition from "Gay Movie Dome.com"

  9. Man, you can do better than this. I don't care which metal band you chose to make fun of really, just do it better.

  10. A little bit confused. Is this a meta-joke about the people who really care about shit glam bands getting called metal or is this a genuine complaint? Because towards the end it felt like it could go either way considering there are previous entries where you make fun of 80s thrash revival (and isn't making fun of glam metal a part of that?). Not that I would defend this hair teased turds, this entry just seems a little lazy.

  13. Their guitarist, JJ French, used to write a monthly column in 'Guitar for the Practicing Musician' ages ago. It was all about the business side of being in a band, he often gave tips on how to deal with the shitty behavior of record labels.

And let's not forget Mr. Snider's fairly competent defense of free speech before the PMRC.

TS might have been idiots, but they were smart, helpful idiots. Stay hungry.

  14. Stay Hungry is a guilty pleasure.

  16. smf is a cool song, and if it weren't for all that clown make-up TS would be a pretty decent band to fondly look back on, they turned alot of kids on to metal, and their songs were catchy as hell, but the make-up is just too cringe-inducing to ever admit to even owning a TS record, which is why it's fun to make fun of that whole clown-metal pose, which they didn't need but the whole KISS/NYDOLLS factor brainwashed people into GIMMICKS to make up for lack of talent.

Anyways cool article, too short though. keep it up.
